Women’s Hockey Gets First Win In Updated Hunt Arena

RIVER FALLS, Wis.(uwrfsports.com) - The Falcons hosted the Bethel Lions on Friday night (11.4.16) to record the first win in the new Hunt Arena. The Falcons recorded 7 goals coming from 6 different players to notch the women's hockey team to 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In the first period, the Falcons were put on power play early in the game at 5:19, but were not successful and still down 0-1. 
  • Dani Sibley was called for a penalty at 7:18 for interference.
  • At 17:21 in the first period, Bella Wagner scored the first goal of the night and the first goal of her college career on the power play to put the score at 1-1.
  • Four minutes into the second period, Jessie Anderson scored to put the Falcons up 2-1. Ashley Effertz assisted the goal.
  • At 11:23 Bella Wagner was called for a slashing penalty.
  • Hailey Herdine scored her first goal of her college career at 11:56 to put the Falcons up 3-1. Carly Moran assisted the goal.
