ROCHESTER, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) - The UW-River Falls softball team traveled to Rochester, Minn. to compete in week two of the Luther College Dome Tournament.
Starting out day three of the Luther Dome Tournament the Falcons battled the University of Dubuque Spartans in a game that would end with the Falcons winning 6-5.

The Falcons scored the game's first five runs. The scoring started in the first when
Michelle LaCasse singled in
Aiyana Ledwein.

The Falcons got back on the board in inning number two when the Spartans had a costly throwing error, which allowed
Hannah Zurn to score.
Â
Inning number three proved wealthy for the Falcons as they scored three runs on four hits.
Ali Murray drove in the first run of the inning when she doubled in
Shannan Borchardt. Run number two came when
Erin Ralph singled in LaCasse.
Kamyn Peterson-Rucker drove in the third and final run of the inning when she tripled to right field scoring
Ali Murray.

Dubuque got on the board in bottom of the third to make the score 5-1.

Ali Murray scored her second run of the game when Peterson-Rucker singled to center field to start off the scoring in the fifth inning.
Â
Dubuque came close to tying the game up when they scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth. They also scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to push the score even closer, but the Falcons were able to hold off the Spartans to win the game 6-5 in seven innings.

Michelle LaCasse got the win on the mound as she went five strong innings giving up three runs on just six hits.
Payton Speckel finished out the game for the Falcons going the final two innings. Speckel gave up one run on one hit.

Kamyn Peterson-Rucker had an impressive game going 3-4 including a run scoring triple. She drove in two runs in total in the first game.

Game 2 vs: St. Mary's UniversityÂ
The Falcons continued to battle in game two, but unfortunately came up just short when they fell to St. Mary's 11-6.

Emma Steiner struggled while taking the loss for the Falcons on Friday evening, giving up four earned runs in just one third of an inning. Replacing Steiner in the first inning of Friday night's game was
Erin Ralph who gave up 2 two earned runs on five hits while going two thirds of an inning.
Michelle LaCasse replaced Ralph in the top of the second inning and gave up three runs on three hits while pitching just the second inning.
Amber Galloway took the ball for Coach Dohlman in the top of the third inning and pitched the final five innings. Galloway gave up no runs on just three hits.

The Falcons finally got on the board in the bottom of the third inning when
Katie Thompson singled in Sarah Sorenson.

Erin Ralph started off the scoring for the Falcons in the 4
th inning when she singled in
Kamyn Peterson-Rucker. This single also moved
Amber Galloway over to third base. Galloway would score on a wild pitch to make the game 11-3 in favor of the Cardinals of Saint Mary's University.
Hannah Zurn reached safely on an error by the Cardinals' shortstop, which allowed
Erin Ralph to score to push the game to 11-4.

Scoring again for the Falcons was
Erin Ralph when she scored off of two errors in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Hannah Zurn scored when Sorenson grounded out to second to push the game to the final tally of 11-6.

Erin Ralph and
Kamyn Peterson-Rucker both had good days at the plate. Ralph went 2-4 and scored twice while driving in 1 run, and Peterson-Rucker went 2-4 while scoring a run.
Game 3 vs: Luther CollegeÂ
The Falcons Softball team took on Luther College on Saturday afternoon and fell by a score of 7-2.

Luther College got off to a good start when they scored the first five runs of the game.

The Falcons scored their first run of the game when
Katie Thompson singled in Sarah Sorenson in the top of the third inning.

Luther scored another two runs in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 7-1.

The Falcons finished out their scoring for the game when
Aiyana Ledwein doubled in
Erin Ralph. This pushed the score to the final tally of 7-2.

Game 4 vs: Buena Vista CollegeÂ
In the final game of the Luther Dome tournament for the Falcons they fell to Buena Vista College by a score of 9-0 in five innings.

Aiyana Ledwein singled and stole second base in the first inning. Sarah Sorenson also singled and stole second base in the game. Picking up the final hit of the game for River Falls was
Ali Murray, who singled to left field in the bottom of the fourth.

Toeing the rubber on Saturday night for the Falcons was
Emma Steiner who pitched three innings while allowing six earned runs on just seven hits. Replacing Steiner in the top of the fourth inning was
Erin Ralph. Ralph finished the game for the Falcons while allowing three runs on five hits.

The Falcons are off until Sunday, March 13
th when they travel to Clermont, Florida to take part in the PFX games. Their first game will be played against North Park University and the second game of the day will see the Falcons battle Anderson University of Indiana at 7:00 P.M.Â
