Softball Takes One Day Four of Spring Games

CLERMONT, Fla. (uwrfsports.com) – The University of Wisconsin – River Falls Falcons took on North Park University and Heidelberg University on Day 4 of PFX games.
 
Game 1 Vs:  North Park University
 
River Falls continued to battle through day four of the PFX games, in which they first played against the Vikings from North Park University.
 
The scoring got under way in the bottom of the sixth when the Vikings scored one run on a single to center field.
 
The Falcons stormed back in the top of the seventh and scored two runs when Aiyana Ledwein doubled to center field scoring Maddie Studnicka and Erin Ralph.
 
Payton Speckel came on in the bottom of the seventh inning and shut the door on the Vikings as she earned the save for her efforts. Speckel allowed no runs on just two hits while striking out two batters in the bottom of the seventh.
 
Toeing the rubber for the first six innings for the Falcons was Amber Galloway who allowed one run on six hits while striking out two. Galloway took the win for River Falls.
 
Game 2 Vs: Heidelberg University
 
The Falcons took on the #14 Bergs from Heidelberg University in the second game on Day four. The Bergs would take the win 4-0.
 
Picking up hits for River Falls were Hannah Zurn and Sarah Sorensen.
 
Taking the loss while pitching seven full innings for the Falcons was Michelle LaCasse. LaCasse allowed four runs on eight hits while striking out seven Berg batters.
 
River Falls plays again on Friday when they take on Frostburg University in game one and then they take on Endicott University in game two.
