Eau Claire, WI (uwrfsports.com) - The UW-River Falls men's hockey team traveled to take on the Blugolds of UW-Eau Claire on Thursday night. The Falcons got goals from
Joe Drapluk and
Taylor Burden, but it wasn't enough as they fell to the Blugolds 4-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blugolds scored the first goal of the game at the 16:46 mark of the 1st period when Todd Koritzinsky found the back of net with a shot that appeared to hit someone in front and deflect past the Falcon goaltender.
- The first period would end with the Blugolds up 1-0. The Blugolds out shot the Falcons 9-6 in the period.
- UW-Eau Claire would push their lead to 2-0 early in the second period when Koritzinsky found the back of the net for his second goal of the night.
- Joe Drapluk would answer for the Falcons just over a minute later to cut the Blugold lead in half at 2-1.
- The Falcons would tie the game at 2, when Taylor Burden scored at the 12:41 mark of the 2nd period. He was assisted on the goal by Mason Van Tuyl.
- Mike Fazio would get the first penalty of the game at the 13:26 mark when he was called for holding the stick. The Blugolds would find the back of the net on the power play to retake the lead at 3-2.
- The second period would end with the Blugolds holding on to a one goal lead, but as time expired in the period, Todd Koritzinsky was called for goaltender interference.
- The third period began with the Falcons on the power play. The Falcons were unable to get a shot on goal with the man advantage as the Blugolds still lead 3-2.
- At the 4:55 mark of the period Patrick Moore found the back of the net to put the Blugolds up 4-2.
- The Falcons would pull their goalie late in the period, but could not score and the game ended with the Blugolds winning by a score of 4-2.
- Zach Quinn made 28 saves on the night for the Falcons.
THE OPPOSITION
- Todd Koritzinsky lead the way for the Blugolds, picking up their first two goals of the night.
- Patrick Moore and Adam Knochenmus both added goals for the Blugolds.
- Jay Deo made 20 saves in net for UW-Eau Claire.
