River Falls, WI (uwrfsports.com) -The athletics department at UW-River Falls is pleased to announce it has become a chapter member of Chi Alpha Sigma, the academic fraternity for the National College Athlete Honor Society. UW-River Falls was awarded the designation of Wisconsin Epsilon chapter.
"I am proud that UW-River Falls has become the newest member of the National College Athlete Honor Society," said Interim Athletics Director,
Crystal Lanning. "The purposes behind Chi Alpha Sigma align with our department core values, and membership in this organization provides us with a unique opportunity to further recognize the outstanding achievements of Falcon student-athletes."
Founded in 1996, Chi Alpha Sigma is a nonprofit organization that was established to recognize college student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition. To be inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, a student-athlete must meet eight different criteria which includes having a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.40 at the completion of their fifth full time semester and have earned a varsity letter in their sport.
UW-River Falls will induct their inaugural class at the Falcon Awards scheduled later this spring.
