Angie Hall tied the single-season record for shutouts (7) in a 6-0 blowout win over UW-Superior at Hunt Arena.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Three different players had a pair of assists in the game and all six goals came from different players in the win with three goals in the third period all coming on power plays, which the Falcons were 3-4 on the night on.
- In the 500 games as a program, UWRF and head coach Joe Cranston hold a record of 330-130-40.
- Bella Wagner began the scoring for UWRF with a goal at 8:07 on a rebound opportunity on the left side of the net. Wagner's goal was assisted by Dani Sibley and Jesse Anderson.
- At the end of the first period in an unusual series of events, the puck found its way in at the buzzer, but after further discussion, the goal was waved off, with UWRF still holding on to a 1-0 lead.
- Jillayne Gilbert added a second goal at 11:16 in the second period. Her goal was assisted by Payton Rudiger and Amy Auran.
- UWRF scored their third goal on a defensemen to defensemen pass to Carly Moran for an easy dump into the net at 15:13 in the second period. Paige Johnson and Haley Nielsen got credit for the assists.
- In the third period the Falcons began quickly with a power play goal that stemmed from the end of the second period. Haley Nielsen lit the lamp with Sibley and Johnson adding the assists.
- Lydia Wagner added a second power play goal in the third period at 13:10 with Kathryn Larson adding the assist, her first of the season.
- Larson assisted on the final goal as well with Hailey Herdine scoring the goal. Moran also assisted on the goal.
- Individually, Bella Wagner led with six shots on net. Her sister Lydia and Anderson each added five shots each.
- UWRF had the advantage in total shots on net with 45 to the Yellowjackets 16.
- Hall finished with her seventh shutout of the season, which leads all of Division III, while making 16 saves.
THE OPPOSITION
- Kaleigh Martinson, Mikayla Goodin and Emily Heid each had three shots on goal in the game.
- Sky Brown started in net for the Yellowjackets. She finished with 39 saves in the game, 15 coming in the third period alone.
- UW-Superior was called for four penalties in the game. They had three chances on the power play but were unsuccessful with zero shots on net in those three power plays.
LOOKING AHEAD
UW-River Falls will follow UW-Superior (7-12, 1-6 WIAC) home for another matchup on January 28
th at 2 p.m. in Superior, Wisconsin. UWRF then will wrap up their WIAC regular season with a pair of games against UW-Eau Claire (14-6-1, 3-2 WIAC) on February 10
th and 11
th. The Blugolds are the only team to defeat the Falcons this season.
