RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls men's basketball team carried an early lead to a 68-60 non-conference win over Hamline Saturday afternoon at Page Arena.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The Pipers got on the board first scoring the first points of the night but the lead quickly dwindled as the Falcons took the lead and maintained it through the remainder of the game.
- At the half, the Falcons led 36-25. They shot 66.7 percent from the floor. Brennan Witt had six points and five rebounds. He was 2-4 from the floor.
- Coming off the halftime break Alex Herink made three layups in two minutes to push the Falcons to 42-25.
- The Pipers would take on six points before the Devin Buckley would hit back to back to back three pointers to give the Falcons their biggest lead of the night at 25.
- When it seemed like the Falcons were going to blow out of the Pipers they responded and went on an 11 point run that would get them within 12.
- At 6:09 Bret Lukes was called for a foul allowing Clay Siefert to go to the line for an opportunity to break up the hot Piper offense.
- The Pipers went on another small run scoring five and shrinking the Falcon lead to six.
- With eleven seconds remaining in the game Zach Smith was called for a foul allowing Austin Heidecker to go to the line and seal the deal for the Falcons.
IN-DEPTH LOOK
- Devin Buckley was a perfect 4-4 from beyond the arc and scored 15 total points on the night.
- Alex Herink had 11 points on 5-9 shooting. He also added two steals and two rebounds.
- Defensively Brennan Witt had two defensive rebounds and three steals. He also aided on the offense with ten points. He was 3-6 from the floor and 4-4 from the line.
- Austin Heidecker came off the bench for seven points with five of them coming from the line.
- From the floor, UWRF shot 22-44 (50 percent) and was 7-15 downtown. They were 17-23 from the charity stripe.
THE OPPOSITION
- Issac Brooks who got in foul trouble early on in the first led the Pipers with 16 points. He was 7-11 from the floor and 2-4 from behind the arc.
- Nick Powell came off the bench for 13 points on 5-9 shooting and 2-3 from the charity stripe.
- The Pipers shot 23-59 (39 percent) from the field and 6-10 (60 percent) at the line.
- The Pipers were held to 8-20 (40 percent) as a team from beyond the arc.
