MENOMONIE, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – In their first match of the season the UW-River Falls women's tennis team picked up an 8-1 win over Lawrence University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SINGLES

• In the No. 1 singles match Brittany Asfeld won 5-4 and 6-0.
• Molly Deering won the No. 2 singles 6-4 and 6-3.
• Krista Haglund won 6-4 and 6-1 in the No. 3 singles.
• In No. 4 singles Hannah Andress took the match 6-4 and 6-0.
• Karli Helland won 6-0 abd 6-3 in the No. 5 spot.
• Mary Schimanski won the final match in the No. 6 spot 6-2 and 6-2.

 
DOUBLES

• In doubles play the Falcons took two of three matches.
• No. 2 doubles consisting of Molly Deering and Hannah Andress won 8-2.
• Karli Helland and Mary Schimanski teamed up to win No. 3 doubles 8-0. 

 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Falcons will travel to UW-La Crosse to take on Winona State and UW-La Crosse on September 9^th.
