EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls men's basketball team finished out the first half of the WIAC season with a 77-63 win over UW- Eau Claire Wednesday evening at Zorn Arena.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The Falcons carried a lead through the first five minutes until the Blugold tied it up on three point shot. The Falcons answered with back to back three point shots.
- For the next five minutes the two teams tied the game up four times before the Falcons went on an 18-8 point run to finish out the half
- The Falcons came out strong in the second half quickly extending their lead to 15 in the first five minutes.
- The Blugolds answered with a 13 point run that put them within four points with 7:16 remaining in the half.
- Austin Moldenhauer stole the ball and made a three pointer to get the Falcons back on track and Clay Seifert hit back to back threes setting up the Falcons for a 10-4 run to finish out the game.
IN-DEPTH LOOK
- Matt Keller was the leading Falcon scorer with 20 points. He was a perfect 6-6 from beyond the arc and was 2-2 from the free throw line.
- Alex Herink scored 13 points. He was 5-13 from the floor and 2-5 from beyond the arc.
- Clay Seifert was 3-4 from downtown and scored 12 points.
- Austin Heidecker came off the bench for 10 points. He was 3-7 from the floor and 4-5 from the charity stripe.
- As a team, the Falcons were 26-55 (47.3 percent) from the floor and shot 14-22 (63.6 percent) from beyond the arc. They were 11-15 (73.3 percent) at the line.
THE OPPOSITION
- George Dickelman had 20 points for the Blugolds. He was 7-14 from the floor and 4-4 from the charity stripe.
- Chris Duff was 5-4 from the floor to score 12points. He was 1-1from the charity stripe and made one three point shot.
- The Blugolds shot 26-54 (48.1 percent) from the floor and were 5-5 (100 percent) from the charity stripe. They connected on six shots beyond the arc.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Falcons host No. 19 UW-Oshkosh Saturday January 27 at 5 p.m. The Falcons fell to the Titans 58-67 earlier this season.
