RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The No. 3 UW-River Falls men's basketball team beat No.5 UW-Whitewater on a last second shot that gave the Falcons an 81-80 win on the road.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The two teams traded baskets throughout the first half, recording nine lead changes between the two teams.
- The Falcons led for the first ten minutes of the half before the Warhawks took their first lead of the game with 9:05 remaining in the first half.
- Whitewater closed out the first half by taking the lead back on a last-second 3-pointer that gave the Warhawks a 47-45 lead going into to half.
- The Warhawks continued their lead into the second half extending the lead to as much as ten at the 5:47 mark.
- The Falcons came back within one point with 1:49 remaining in the contest.
- Neither team scored for the next 1:47 minutes until Brennan Witt hit a jumper with two seconds remaining giving the Falcons their only lead of the second half.
IN-DEPTH LOOK
- Brennan Witt had a career high 30 points on 13-16 shooting. He completed a double double by picking up ten rebounds. He added three steals and two assists.
- Alex Herink was 2-7 from the floor and 7-10 from the charity stripe to score eleven points. He had six rebounds and two assists.
- Matt Keller and Chris Laymon each had eight points. Both made two shots from beyond the three point arc.
- The Falcons shot 47.5 percent from the floor on 28-59 shooting and were 16-25 (64.0 percent) from the free throw line. They connected on nine shots from beyond the arc.
- The Falcons outrebounded the Warhawks 40-27 in the contest.
THE OPPOSITION
- Four Warhaks had double digit points on the day. Andre Brown and Mitchell Pfeifer each had 18 points.
- Brown was 7-12 from the floor and was 3-5 from the free throw line. He added three assists, four rebounds and two steals.
- Pfeifer was 7-13 on shots made and was 4-6 on three point shots.
- Dalton Menke came off the bench for fourteen points. He was 4-7 from beyond the arc.
- David Sachs was 3-5 on three point shots and scored thirteen points
- The Warhawks shot 29-56 (51.8 percent) from the floor and were 9-15 from the free throw line. They were 13-26 from beyond the arc.
