HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST FINLANDIA
  • The Falcons struck first with a goal at 15:31 in the first half on a shot by Mike Sauer.  He was assisted on the paly by Christian Hausinger and Blake Anderson.  The goal was a power play opportunity after Cale Markham was called for high sticking.
  • The Falcon offense remained quite after that first goal.  They were missing captain and leading scorer Eddie Matsushima after he was called for a five minute major and a game misconduct at 8:35.
  • The Lions came out in the second period with a power play opportunity that carried over from the first when Brandon Bisset was called for slashing.  Teddy Randell used that power play opportunity to score the game tying goal at 55 seconds.
  • The Falcons got an opportunity at the power play at 17:39 but it was the Lions who capitalized when they scored a short hand goal at 19:18.  Kendall Bolen-Porter was able to get an unassisted goal past Zach Quinn who came too far out of the goal to defend.
  • The Lions led 2-1 going into the third period.
  • At 8:56, Dayton Honkanon was called for roughing and the Lions went on the power play attack, Quinn had three nice saves but at 10:34 Connor Hannon was able to get one past Quinn.  He was assisted by Cory Richardsonn.
