Matsushima Scores Four in Falcons 7-3 Win Over Augsburg

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (uwrfsport.com) – Junior forward Eddie Matsushima led the Falcons with 4 goals in a 7-3 rout of Augsburg University on Saturday night.

First Period Second Period
  • A power play opportunity allowed River Falls to score its fourth unanswered goal just 1:08 into the second period. After an Augsburg hooking penalty, Eddie Matsushima scored his second goal of the game on the shorthanded Auggies. He was assisted by Peter Karavos and josh Arnold.
  • Augsburg put its first point on board at 2:56 on a Chandler Madry goal, assisted by Alex Rodriguez and Jason Krych.
  • Eddie Matsushima responded with his third goal of the night at 7:03. He was assisted by David Honkanen.
  • Immediately following the Falcons fifth goal, the Auggies swapped goalie Daniil Gerasimov for Jon Albers.
  • After a holding penalty on Mike Sauer, Eddie Matsushima scored at 12:47 to put the Falcons up 6-1. The goal was the Falcons first and only shorthanded goal of the evening. Matsushima was assisted by Peter Karavos.
