Women's Basketball Lands 3 Players on All-WIAC Teams

Madison, WI – (uwrfsports.com) The UW-River Falls women's basketball team has landed three members on the 2017-18 All-WIAC Team. Seniors Taylor Karge and Brynn Liljander were named first team All-WIAC and sophomore Crystal Pearson was named to the honorable mention squad. Karge was also named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
 
Liljander, an Isanti, Minn. native, led the Falcons in multiple offensive categories this season. She led the Falcons with 412 points and 41 steals, averaging 15.8 points per game and 1.6 steals. She also led the Falcons in assists (62) and minutes played (784). Liljander led the WIAC in 3-pointers made, hitting 58 on the year, ranked second in the league in scoring and third in free throw percentage after shooting 83% from the line. In Liljander's three-year career at UW-River Falls she scored 883 points, averaging 14.7 per game, made 118 3-pointers, and shot a career 82% from the free throw line.
 
Mankato, Minn. native Karge led the Falcons with 161 rebounds this season, averaging 6.2 per game. She also led the Falcons with 38 blocked shots. Karge was second on the team in scoring and assists, averaging 11.9 points per game and 1.5 assists per game. Karge finished the season ranked 8th in the WIAC in both scoring and rebounding. During Karge's career at UW-River Falls she scored 1338 points and pulled down 598 rebounds.
 
Pearson, a Browerville,Wis. native, led the Falcons this season in field goal percentage, shooting 52.9% from the field. She was second on the team with 50 made free throws and third on the team in points (9.8 per game), assists (1.6 per game) and rebounds (4.6 per game). Pearson ranked 4th in the WIAC in field goal percentage, 15th in scoring and 17th in rebounding.
