Tennis Falls to Northwestern

White Bear Lake, Minn. - (uwrfsports.com) - The UW-River Falls traveled to take on Northwestern on Friday afternoon. The Falcons got wins from Hannah Andress and Kari Pollard, and a strong showing by Brittany Asfeld in #1 singles but fell 7-2 to Northwestern.

HOW IT HAPPENED VS NORTHWESTERN
SINGLES
  • Brittany Asfeld won her first set in #1 singles, 6-3, but fell just short in the second set losing 7-6. Asfeld scored 4 points in the tie breaker but fell just short of getting the match win, by a score of 10-4 in the tie breaking set.
  • Delanie Otto fell in #2 singles 6-1, 6-0.
  • Hannah Andress won a very competitive #3 singles match, 6-4 and 7-5, playing some great tennis.
  • Haley Soderberg fell in #4 singles 6-0. 6-0.
  • Kari Pollard won in #5 singles for the Falcons 6-3, 6-3.
  • The Falcons forfeited #6 singles to Northwestern.
 
DOUBLES
  • The team of Brittany Asfeld and Delanie Otto fell in #1 doubles by a score of 8-2.
  • The team of Hannah Andress and Haley Soderberg fell in #2 doubles by a score of 8-2.
  • The Falcons forfeited #3 doubles to Northwestern. 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Falcons look to end their season on a positive note as they host Hamline University on April 29th at 1pm.
