Oshkosh, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls softball team traveled to Oshkosh, Wis. to take on UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday afternoon.
Kaia Dorn 2 runs and knocked in 2 and
Noelle Senour knocked in 2 as well to give the Falcons an 8-4 victory in game 1.
Maddie Studnicka picked up her 3
rd win of the season, giving up just 1 run over 3 and 2/3
rd innings.
Aiyana Ledwein went 2 for 3 in game 2 with an RBI in game 2, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons fell 10-2 in game 2.
THE RUNDOWN GAME 1 vs UW-OSHKOSH

WHAT HAPPENED IN GAME 1
- Shannan Borchardt got the Falcons on the board in the 2nd inning when she hit a solo homer run over the left field fence.
- The Falcons added to their 1-0 lead in the third, when Kaia Dorn reached on an error, stole second and scored on a base hit by Noelle Senour to put the Falcons up 2-0.
- The Falcons added another run to their lead in the 4th, when Lexi Dupee hit an RBI single to knock in Borchardt, to put the Falcons up 3-0.
- The Titans answered in their half of the 4th inning with back to back RBI triples and tied the game with a sac bunt.
- The Falcons did not leave the game tied for long, the next half inning Senour hit an RBI single to knock in Molly Kaspar and give the Falcons a 4-3 lead.
- The Falcons went to work in their half of the 6th inning looking for a couple of runs to add to their lead. Galloway and Dupee started the inning off with back to back singles and the bases were loaded after an Ali Krohn walk. Molly Kaspar hit a sac.fly to drive in one to give the Falcons a 5-3 lead. Dorn would step up and deliver a 2 out 2 RBI double to give the Falcons a 7-3 lead. Dorn was not done as she stole third base and scored on an errant throw by the catcher, to give the Falcons an 8-3 lead.
- The Titans added a late run in the 7th but it wasn't enough as the Falcons cruised to an 8-4 victory.
- Maddie Studnicka picked up the win for the Falcons, her third of the season, throwing 3 and 2/3rd innings while giving up just 1 run on 2 hits.
THE RUNDOWN GAME 2 vs UW-Oshkosh

WHAT HAPPENED IN GAME 2
- The Titans used 2 walks and 2 singles to take an early 1-0 lead in the home half of the 1st inning.
- The Titans added to their lead with a 2 RBI double and an RBI single to take a 4-0 lead after 2 innings.
- Erin Ralph got the Falcons started in the third inning with a lead-off double. Two batters later Aiyana Ledwein singled, to give the Falcons runners at the corners with just one out. Ledwein used her speed to force a pick-off attempt at second, but the second baseman couldn't handle the throw and Ralph scored on the play to get the Falcons on the board.
- The Titans added solo homeruns in the 3rd and 4th innings to push their lead to 6-1.
- The Falcons inched closer in the 6th inning when Ledwein added an RBI single to get the Falcons within 4 at 6-2.
- The Titans ended the game in the 6th inning by pushing across 4 runs on 4 hits to make the final score 10-2.
- Ledwein went 2 for 3 from the plate with an RBI and was a factor in both runs for the Falcons.

The Falcons will play their first home game of the season out at the Softball field on Saturday afternoon when they play a doubleheader against UW-La Crosse. First pitch of game 1 is set for 2pm.
