RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls men's hockey team opened the WIAC season with a 5-5 tie against No. 3 UW-Stevens Point.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST UW-STEVENS POINT
- Ten goals were scored in the second and third period between the two teams after a scoreless first period.
- The Pointers took a 1-0 lead 1:34 in the second period. They followed it up with a goal at 4:55.
- Jake Skolnik cut the lead in half with a goal at 6:00. He was assisted on the play by Christian Hausinger and Charlie Singerhouse.
- The pointers scored a power-play goal to take back the two point lead.
- In the final two minutes of the second period the Falcons scored two goals to tie te game up 3-3. The first goal was a power-play goal by Cayden Cahill and tn Mike Sauer followed it up with a goal at 19:01.
- Ryan Cusin started out the third period with an unassisted goal at 1:12 that gave the Falcons a 4-3 lead.
- Charlie Singerhouse gave the Falcons their fifth goal at 11:39.
- Pointer forward Austin Kelly tied the game up 5-5 with two goals in the final minute of the game.
- Kade Phipps made 24 saves for the Falcons.
