Falcons Win First Game at Vegas Tournament

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls men's basketball team traveled to Las Vegas to participate in the D3hoops.com Classic.  On Sunday, the Falcons faced New Jersey City University.  After being down at the end of the first half, the Falcons dominated the second half and took the win.

WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons made 16-35 (45.71 percent) field goals in the first half, including 4-16 from behind the arc.  Jack Stensgard led the Falcons in the first half with 12 points, hitting 5-7 from the field and 2-2 from three.  Julian Jackson had 10 first half points, shooting 5-9 from the field.
  • UWRF gathered 16 2nd chance points on the night, six in the first half, off 18 offensive rebounds total.
  • The Falcons scored four points off the bench in the first half, 15 total for the game.
  • UWRF went into half time trailing, 36-40.
  • The Falcons shot 51.85 percent from the field in the second half (14-27), hitting 4-9 from behind the arc.  As a team, they made 11-18 from the free throw line (61.11 percent).
