RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) - UW-River Falls couldn't hang onto an early 4-1 lead against Augustana on Saturday afternoon before falling 19-10 in Rock Island, Ill. The Vikings had 11 more attempts on goal and committed nine fewer turnovers to pick up their third win of the year.
Gina Jablonski led the Falcons with a season-best four goals and scored her first two goals within the opening five minutes to put the Falcons up 2-0.

Emma Kohlbeck for a goal after an Augustana score to go up 4-1. However, the Vikings finished the half on an 8-2 scoring run and committed half as many turnovers as UWRF. Kohlbeck brought the Falcons back within a goal at 7-6 after another assist from Leong, but they couldn't come within striking distance again as the Vikings extended their lead in the second half.
The Falcons were a perfect 8-8 on clear attempts and won the majority of draw controls in the opening half. Augustana responded by scoring within the first two minutes of the second half on Bailey Aasen's 11th goal of the year to go up by four goals, but Jablonski scored her fourth goal of the day on a free position shot to also find the back of the net for the 11th time in only five games. The Vikings rattled off four more goals to open up their lead, including two more from Christina McCabe to give her an incredible seven goals on the afternoon. Kathryn Hettiger also added five goals for the Vikings as they converted on 19 of their 29 shots on goal.
Ashley Olson made 10 saves in goal for UWRF in the loss that dropped the team to 2-3 overall. They are back in action tomorrow when they take on North Central College at noon.
