St. Paul, Minn (uwrfsports.com) - The UW-River Falls softball team fell just short in both games of the double-header matchup against Northwestern on Thursday afternoon. In game one, the Falcons fell 4-5 in 8 innings, and in game two, lost 6-7.
THE RUNDOWN GAME 1 vs NORTHWESTERN
Final Score: UW-River Falls 4, Northwestern 5 (8 innings)

WHAT HAPPENED IN GAME 1
- There were no hits for either team in the first three full innings, with only three baserunners combined.
- In th top of the 4th inning, UWRF scored 2 runs on three hits, including a single by Kaia Dorn and Lexi Dupee and a triple by Allison Kondzela. Dorn also had a stolen base in the inning.
- The Falcons added two more runs in the top of the 5th off a homerun by Dorn, her 4th of the season.
- The Eagles answered in the bottom of the 5th inning, generating 3 runs off 2 hits, leaving one runner left on base.
- Northwestern added another run in the bottom of the 6th inning off of 4 singles by Aasness, Kopacek, Hannasch, and Forcier.
- The Falcons remained scoreless through the remainder of play, and the Eagles were able to collect one more run in the bottom of the 8th inning with a bases loaded single by Madison, scoring Hannasch.

WHAT HAPPENED IN GAME 2
- UWRF started out the game with three of the first four batters getting on base by way of three singles from Dorn, Molly Kaspar, and Kondzela. Kaspar earned an RBI, scoring Dorn.
- The Falcons added a second run in the top of the second off of three walks and an error by the Eagles' third baseman.
- The Eagles answered with one run in the bottom of innings two and three to tie the score 2-2.
- In the top of the 4th inning, River Falls rallied for 3 runs off 5 hits, including a triple by Dorn, a double by Hannah Theobald and Kaspar, and a single by Kondzela.
- Northwestern answered with four runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. Forcier and Schmidt both singled, and Nelson follwoed with a homerun.
- Both teams remained scoreless until the 7th inning, in which they each scored one run. The Falcons scored on three hits, while the Eagles scored on one hit and three walks. Tayler Fall earned the RBI for UWRF with a single to right field, scoring Ali Krohn.
