Men's Basketball Defeats Stout at Home

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls men's basketball team hosted UW-Stout on Wednesday evening.  The Falcons defeated the Blue Devils 92-79.

WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons made 17-33 (51.5 percent) field goals in the first half, including 4-10 from behind the arc.  Julian Jackson led the Falcons in the first half with 11 points, shooting 5-8 from the floor.
  • UWRF gathered 11 2nd chance point on the night, four in the first half, from five offensive rebounds.
  • The Falcons scored 10 points off the bench in the first half, 20 total for the game.
  • UWRF went into halftime leading 43-34
  • The Falcons shot 61.5 percent from the field in the second half (16-26), hitting 2-10 from behind the arc.  As a team, they made 15-18 from the free throw line (83.3 percent).
  • Jackson led the Falcons with 16 points in the second half off of 5-6 shooting from the field and 6-8 from the free throw line.
  • River Falls scored 50 points in the paint on the night, 26 coming in the second half.

  • Jackson was the team's high scorer finishing with 27 points off of 10-14 shooting.  He also made 7-10 from the free throw line.
  • Bryce Phillips finished the game with 14 points.  He also recorded four assists and two steals.
  • Overall the Falcons went 33-59 from the floor (55.9 percent), 6-20 of three-pointers (30 percent), and 20-25 from the free throw line (80 percent).

  • Tyreese Alexander was the high scorer for Stout finishing with 21, shooting 9-13 from the floor and 3-3 from the free throw line.
