Women's Hockey Scores Twelve Goals in Dominating Win

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls women's hockey team dominated Northland College scoring twelve goals in a 12-1 win Friday night at Hunt Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NORTHLAND
  • Nine different Falcons scored in the game. 
  • The Falcons scored five goals in the first half.  The first came on a Reilly Springman goal at 6:46. 
  • Less than two minutes later, Julia Stelljes scored the Falcons second goal.
  • Callie Hoff scored 17 seconds later on a pass from Bella Wagner.
  • Hailey Herdine scored the Falcons fourth goal at 11:27.
  • Alyson Niebur finished out the first period with an unassisted goal at 15:27. The Falcons led 5-0 going into the second period.
  • Bella Wagner and Abigail Stow each scored a power play goal in the second period brining the Falcon's lead to 7-0.
  • Erin Olson scored a goal at 10:38 in the second period.  Erica Schramel and Hailey Herdine both assisted her on the goal.
  • The Lumber Jills scored a lone goal in the start of the third period.
  • The Falcons started the third period with a shorthand goal by Bella Wagner.  Assisting her on the goal was Abigail Stow.
  • At 7:19, Reilly Springman scored her second goal of the game.  Her goal came on the power play opportunity.
  • Abigail Stow scored her second goal at 12:23 on a pass from Hailey Herdine.
  • The Falcons scored their twelth and final goal at 16:52 in the third period.  Sophia Leong and Callie Hoff both assisted on the play.
  • The Falcons outshot the Jills 49-10.  Hailey Herdine and Abigail Stow each finished the night with five points. 
  • Leighton Rockensock collected the win with seven saves in goal.
