Track and Field Competes at St. Thomas Showcase

ST. PAUL, Minn. (uwrfsports.com) - This Valentine's Day the UW River Falls track and field team traveled to St. Thomas to compete in the St. Thomas Showcase.

Track Highlights:

Lexi LeFever qualified to the finals of the Women's 60 M Dash and ended up placing 4^th with a time of 8.00 seconds, she also placed 4^th in the Women's 200 M Dash with a time of 26.62 seconds
Freshmen Nate Rixmann and Solomon Pawlitschek finished in the top 15 for the Men's 200 M Dash with times of 23.39 (5^th place) and 25.66 (15^th place) respectively; Rixmann also placed 14^th in the Men's 400 M Dash with a time of 54.61 seconds
Dylan Watcher placed 7^th in the Men's 800 M Dash with a time of 2:00.66
Emma Deutsch took 15^th in the Women's 5000 M Run with a time of 20:14.37 minutes
Samantha Krueger took 3^rd and Kimberly Robertson took 6^th place in the Women's 60 M Final Hurdles with respective times of 9.36 and 9.65 seconds
The Men's 4x400 team came up with an amazing 2^nd place ranking with impressive performances from Nate Rixmann, Brenton Wolf, Mitchell Lorenz, and Dylan Watcher with a time of 3:33.77 minutes

Field Highlights:

Lexi LeFever took 3^rd and Marlee Dietrich took 9^th in the Women's Long Jump with distances of 5.12m and 4.87m respectively
Joel Alexander took 9^th in the Men's Long Jump with a distance of 6.25m
Joel Alexander and Luke Raymond placed 8^th and 9^th in the Men's Triple Jump with distances of 12.08m and 11.46m
Samantha Krueger took 5^th in the Women's Pole Vault with a height of 3.32m
Jackie Rosenbush took 12^th, Vanessa Thiel took 14^th, and Taylor Weiss took 15^th in the Women's Shot Put with distances of 10.66m, 10.20m, and 10.19m respectively
Abigail Bakken took 13^th in the Women's Weight Throw with a throw of 13.67m
Peter Place took 15^th in the Men's Weight Throw with a throw of 13.28m
In Men's High Jump, Brenton Wolf placed 11^th with a jump of 1.65m and coming in at a tie for 13^th is Leo Pittsley and Collin Fluno with a jump of 1.50m

Looking Ahead:
The Falcons will be traveling to compete at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities next week Friday February 21.
