RIVER FALLS, Wis. (uwrfsports.com) – The UW-River Falls men's hockey team suffered a 2-5 loss to UW-Stout Friday night in the opening game of the WIAC Semifinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST UW-STOUT
- The Falcons took no time scoring the first goal of the evening four minutes into the first period. Sam Anzai scored the goal on a pass from Cayden Cahill and Gabe Wahl.
- The Blue Devils took control of the remainder of the first period scoring four goals. They scored a pair of goals back to back at 6:52 and 7:14 in the first. They finished out the period with a goal at 15:26 and then a power play goal at 17:15.
- In the second period, the Falcons cut the lead in half scoring the only goal at 4:08. Ryan Cusin took advantage of a Falcon power play opportunity firing in a shot to make the score 2-4. Assisting him on the play was Christian Hausinger and Jackson Nauss.
- Stout scored a fifth and final goal in the final minutes of the third period to secure the 5-2 win.
- The Falcons had 24 shots on goal and were led by Sam Anzai who had four shots on goal.
- Zach Quinn stopped 22 shots but gave up five goals
