MADISON, Wis.--The 2021 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) men's basketball season will have a different look due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 
 
Teams will be divided into two divisions – (East Division: UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Whitewater | West Division: UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-River Falls and UW-Stout). Each team is scheduled to play two games against each divisional opponent, as well as two games against one cross-over opponent, for a total of eight games. All eight teams will qualify for the WIAC Championship that begins on March 1. The winner of the conference tournament receives an automatic NCAA bid. The NCAA Division III Championship is scheduled to start on March 11. 
 
UW-Platteville claimed the 21st regular-season championship a season ago, while UW-Oshkosh secured its fourth conference tournament title. Both teams, along with UW-Eau Claire, received bids into the NCAA Division III Championship - marking the fourth straight year the WIAC was represented by three teams in the postseason.
