AGAINST THE FORESTERS
This weekend's contests will mark the 46th and 47th all-time meetings between UW-River Falls and Lake Forest, with the Falcons holding a 36-5-4 series advantage.
The two teams last met during the 2019-20 season opener in River Falls. The Falcons swept the Foresters with 6-1 and 4-0 victories.
FALCONS PICKED FIRST IN WIAC PRESEASON POLL
Coming off a 10-2 condensed 2020-21 season in which the Falcons won their seventh WIAC Championship in the last eight seasons, UWRF was selected to finish atop of the 2021-22 WIAC standings, as voted by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
The Falcons return nearly 90 percent of its scoring from last year's roster, including 2021 WIAC Player of the Year
Callie Hoff (Sr., Hermantown, Minn.), 3x All-WIAC First Team honoree
Abigail Stow (Sr., Eau Claire, Wis.), and WIAC Newcomer of the Year,
Alex Hantge (So., Hutchinson, Minn.).
In addition, UWRF returns all three of its goaltenders from last year's roster, including 2021 All-WIAC sophomore
Jordan O'Connor (Prairie du Sac, Wis.) and 2019 All-WIAC First Team member,
Sami Miller (Sr., Blaine, Minn.).
