RIVER FALLS, Wisconsin – The UW-River Falls women's hockey team shut out St. Olaf College in a nonconference matchup Tuesday evening. The Falcons beat the Oles 3-0.
 
The Falcons claimed the lead on an unassisted goal by Erin Olson at 16:07 in the first period. 

St. Olaf had one power play opportunity in the second period but the Falcons kept them from capitalizing.  

Alyson Niebur netted the Falcons second goal at the 8:57 mark to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead.  Reilly Springman and Erin Olson assisted on the goal.  Sophia Leong took an Alex Hantge pass to the upper left corner of the goal to give the Falcons their third goal of the night.
 
The Falcons led 39-12 in shots on goal.  Alyson Niebur led the group with seven.  Pistol Cowden earned her third win of the season collecting 12 saves. 
 
The Falcons are off till December 8, when they travel to Gustavus Adolphus.  The matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m.
