MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced its 2021 Volleyball postseason awards Thursday, Nov. 4, with
Sami Hilley and
Katie Koerper representing UW-River Falls with Honorable Mention accolades.
Hilley, a sophomore middle blocker from Champlin Park, Minn., appeared in 28 of the Falcons' 29 matches, starting in 27. In 95 sets, Hilley averaged 2.27 kills per set while totaling 216 with a team-high .341 hitting percentage. She also ranked second on the team with 49 total blocks. During conference action, Hilley collected 53 kills and just seven attacking errors in 22 sets, ranking third in the WIAC with a .380 hitting percentage.
During the week of Oct. 20-23, Hilley led the Falcons with a .474 attacking rate in three matches, including a career-high 20 kills at Augsburg University. She was recognized with the WIAC Player of the Week award along with the RCU Female Falcon of the Week.Â
Koerper, a senior outside hitter from Hammond, Wis., led the team this fall with 269 total kills, averaging 2.86 per set in 28 matches played. In 15 matches, she recorded double-digit totals in kills, including a season-high 17 kills at Carleton (Sept. 24) with a .593 hitting percentage. During three matches from Oct. 13-16, Koerper averaged 4.1 kills with a .317 attacking rate en route to earning RCU Female Falcon of the Week.
