PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's basketball team fell 74-59 Saturday evening at UW-Platteville.
The Falcons hung in with the No. 4-ranked Pioneers in the first half, counting on three-pointers as UWRF had seven of its 10 made field goals in the first half come from beyond the arc.
Noah Hanson tallied a trio of triples in the first 20 minutes while UWP struggled, shooting 12-of-32 from the field and led 32-28 at halftime.
The home team put the game out of reach for the Falcons in the second half, extending its lead into double digits after a layup and free throw with 12:38 remaining put the Pioneers up 47-37.
Platteville maintained at least a six-point advantage and led by as many as 18 in the second half to close out the Falcons and remain undefeated at 9-0.
Hanson led the Falcons with 22 points, shooting 7-13 from the floor.
Marshall Holland led the team with six rebounds and
Bryce Phillips with five assists.
UW-River Falls (5-4, 0-2 WIAC) has next week off before returning to action Dec. 15-18 with a pair of non-conference games against MIAC opponents, Augsburg University and Hamline University.
