After stampeding through the Lumber Jill's on Wednesday at home the Falcon's scored 13 goals for the second time in a row, replicating their season opening 13-0 win, this time on the road.
The Falcons started off the first period by winning the first faceoff of the game which proved to be foreshadowing for the rest of the game. Eventually,Â
Abigail Stow (second goal of the season) found the net five minutes in on a goal that was assisted by
Holly Eckers. 12 minutes into the period, another goal was scored by
Aubrey Nelvin, assisted by Eckers and
Braelyn Sathers. The goal was Nelvin's second goal of the season. Before the period was up,Â
Brooke Walters (first goal of the season) was able to blast one in, this one assisted by Sathers as well.
Skating into the second period, the fourth goal of the game was scored by
Hadley Malcolmson (first goal of the season) assisted by  Nelvin. Before the period ended,
Sophia Leong, Stow,
Brooke Walters, and
Callie Hoff were all able to light the lamp, putting the Falcons advantage at an insurmountable 8-0 lead.
Just over a minute into the final period,
Reilly Springman (third goal of the season) scored on a power play, with assists by Walters and Eckers. Stow was able to complete her hat trick several minutes later, while
Alex Hantge (second of the season), Hoff, and Stow all tallied more goals to reach the final dominate margin of 13-0.Â
Freshman goaltender Piston Cowden collected her first collegiate win also earning her first colligate shut out, registering 13 saves. The Falcons finished the game with an incredible 78 shots on goal.
Next week the Falcons will look to continue the offensive fireworks as they take on Pointers of UW-Stevens Point. Puck drop is set for 7:05 on Wednesday, February 10 at Stevens Point.
