Riding a three-game winning streak, the UW-River Falls lacrosse team took to the road to take on Wartburg College and picked up right where they left off last game. The Falcons never trailed in the game and dominated offensively, beating the Knights 21-6.
Not even 30 seconds into the game, freshman Emma Heerey scored to put the Falcons up and they never looked back. Over the course of the next 30 minutes, sophomore Emily Herdine found herself with three goals and the team led 11-5 at the break.
The Falcons came into the second half and continued to cruise offensively. After outshooting Wartburg 24-10 in the first half, the Falcons did even better in the second half, putting 20 shots towards goal while only giving up two. Senior Gina Jablonski stayed hot in tonight's game scoring four goals, all within six minutes of each other. As a team, UW-RF scored 10 unanswered goals as they won comfortably 21-6.
Gina Jablonski led all scorers with five goals, while Herdine had four, and Heery had three. Josie Johnson, Reilly Springman, Holly Eckers, and Emma Kohlbeck each added two goals, and Abigail Benson tack on one herself.
On April 3, the Falcons will be traveling to Illinois to take on the Cardinals from North Central College at 3 PM. The Falcons will be looking to continue their 4-game winning streak.
