Jackson Named Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications

Trent Jackson has been named assistant athletic director for strategic communications at UW-River Falls. In his role, Jackson will oversee all athletics communication and sports information efforts for the Falcon athletic department. He will begin on August 2, 2021.
 
"I am excited to welcome Trent to UW-River Falls," said director of athletics, Crystal Lanning. "Trent brings great experience having worked in NCAA Division I, II and III athletic departments, and his past experiences will allow him to successfully coordinate the day-to-day operations of the athletics communication office, while promoting the brand of Falcon Athletics."
 
Jackson comes to UWRF after serving as the sports information director at Wartburg College since 2019. While at Wartburg, Jackson oversaw all communications efforts for the athletic department, including public relations, game day coverage, and marketing and promotion of the Knight's 24 athletic programs. Prior to Wartburg, Jackson served one year as an athletics communication and engagement assistant at Western Michigan University, where he was responsible for the daily communications operations for six of the Bronco's Division I programs. Prior to his time at Western Michigan, Jackson spent two years as the assistant sports information director at Gustavus Adolphus College, where he helped manage the day-to-day operations of the Gustie's athletics communication office. Jackson began his career in athletics communication at Bemidji State University, where he worked with the Beaver's Division I and II athletic programs as an athletics media relations student assistant.

"I'm looking forward to working alongside, promoting, and contributing towards the growth of Falcon student-athletes, coaches, staff, and the River Falls community."

Jackson earned a bachelor's degree in sport management from Bemidji State University and a master's degree in sport management from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
