ASHLAND, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's hockey team dropped a WIAC road contest Thursday evening, falling 2-1 at Northland College.
The Lumberjacks scored a goal in each of the first two periods, taking a two-goal lead while goaltender Chris Curr made 27 saves on the Falcons to earn the win.
Caleb Anderson scored the lone goal for the Falcons, cutting the Northland lead in half six minutes into the second period. His fifth goal of the season was assisted by
Cory Schillo.
UWRF pulled netminder
Dysen Skinner with a minute and a half left in regulation, but weren't able to tie up the game and suffered the road loss. Skinner made 26 saves while his record dropped to 8-6 on the season.
Shots on goal were even at 28 apiece while UWRF led 40-28 on faceoffs.
The Falcons, now 10-9-1 overall and 6-4 during WIAC competition, host the Lumberjacks Saturday night at Hunt Arena.
