LAST TIME OUT
  • The previously ranked No. 14 Falcons fell 21-14 last Saturday at UW-Platteville.
  • The Pioneers held the Falcons to a season-low 333 yards of total offense, limited to 127 through the air despite 206 rushing yards. UWRF led UWP 22-19 in first downs and totaled more yards of offense, but were held back by a 6-for-20 conversion rate on third downs.
  • Sophomore defensive back Aaron Borgerding (Spring Valley, Wis.) led the UWRF defense with a career-high 15 tackles.
THE SERIES
  • Saturday's matchup marks the 25th all-time meeting between UW-River Falls and UW-Eau Claire, with the series deadlocked at 12-12.
    Last year, the Falcons defeated the Blugolds 41-24 in Eau Claire, rushing for 267 yards.

  • Quarterback Kaleb Blaha (So., Coon Rapids, Minn.) ranks 15th nationally and leads the WIAC with 301.3 yards of total offense per game. He's also the league's leading rusher with 656 rushing yards, averaging 109.3 yards per game with eight touchdowns.
  • Defensively, Michael Brown (So., Victoria, Minn.) leads the WIAC with four interceptions, while Andrew Schumacher (So., Andover, Minn.) ranks second with seven passes defended. 
    • Schumacher, Caleb Johnson (Sr., Muscoda, Wis.), and Frank Hartman (Sr., Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) all rank among the league's top 10 in tackles for loss, combining for 16.5.
