FALCON NOTES
- UWRF snapped a four-game losing streak with a 58-57 win at St. Olaf College on Dec. 13. Most recently, UWRF fell 75-72 in its first overtime contest of the season, falling to Hamline University.
- Rodrick Payne, last years WIAC and Region 9 Rookie of the Year, has scored in double figures in all but one game this season, and leads the team with 17.4 points per game.
- Payne averaged 23 points and nine rebounds versus St. Olaf and Hamline, including 27 points and 11 rebounds against the Pipers, and was named the WIAC Player of the Week.
- The Falcons were picked to finish fifth in the 2022-23 WIAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll, coming off a 2021-22 season in which the Falcons turned in a 14-10 overall record and 6-7 WIAC finish, falling to UW-Whitewater in the second round of the WIAC Tournament.
- Jeff Berkhof is in his 17th season at the helm of the program. Last season, Berkhof collected his 200th career win during an 83-58 win over Howard Payne in Lincoln, Neb. He follows only his predecessor, Rick Bowen, in coaching victories at UWRF with a record of 209-193.
