AGAINST THE BLUGOLDS
- Tonight's game marks the 102nd all-time meeting between UW-River Falls and UW-Eau Claire, with the Blugolds owning a 64-37 series advantage.
- UWEC swept the regular season series over UWRF, winning 62-49 in Eau Claire on Jan. 19 and 67-54 on Feb. 2 in River Falls.
- During the WIAC Tournament, the Blugolds hold a 6-2 record over the Falcons. However, UWRF has won the last two meetings, in 2011 and 2016.
WIAC TOURNAMENT HISTORY
- Since 1990, UW-River Falls holds an 8-18 overall record in the WIAC Tournament, including a 7-11 mark during the quarterfinals/first round.
- UWRF is coming off a thrilling 82-79 double overtime comeback victory at UW-Stevens Point last Friday.
- The Falcons fell 79-59 against UW-Oshkosh during last season's WIAC Quarterfinals.
- In 2016, UWRF reached the WIAC Tournament Championship, falling to UW-Oshkosh. The Falcons earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and defeated Wheaton College in the first round prior to dropping a second-round contest versus the University of St. Thomas.
FALCON NOTES
- UWRF closed out its regular season with a 71-58 victory over UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday, Feb. 16.
- The Falcons finished the regular season seventh in the WIAC standings and ranked fifth in league scoring with 63.9 points per game, and led the league with an average of 8.3 three-point field goals per game.
- UWRF ranks among the top 10 nationally in Division III, averaging 12.8 turnovers per game.
- Junior guard/forward Macy Nilsen is the Falcons' leading scorer with 14.7 points per game and is one of three Falcons to have started in all 24 games (Jenna Zeman, Cassie Heinrichs).
- Nilsen averaged 23 points per game last week with 19 rebounds during a pair of games against Stevens Point, including a 24-point effort on Feb. 16, in which she made a career-high seven three-pointers.
- Senior point guard Jenna Zeman has picked up assists in five consecutive games and leads the team with 2.6 assists per game. Backup point guard Katelyn Karch also averages 2.5 assists per game.
