PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The men's and women's track & field teams both finished in eighth place at the 2022 WIAC Indoor Championships.
After winning the women's long jump on Friday,
Lexi LeFever once again headlined the Falcons' performance, winning the 200-meter dash on Saturday with a personal best time of 25.22.
Sarah Langlois trailed LeFever in the 200m, clocking a time of 27.41.
LeFever also took fourth in the 60-meter dash, earning five team points with a time of 7.78. On the weekend, LeFever compiled 25 of the Falcons' 29 team points. The UWRF women also received points on Friday with a fifth place pole vault finish from
Kimi Robertson, and one point from the DMR team.
The Falcon men added one point on Saturday, finishing eighth in the 4x400-meter relay with a UWRF season-best time of 2:39.63 from
Dylan Wachter,
Trever Jensen,
Kyle McCullough, and
Jake Lawrence.
Joel Alexander set an indoor personal best in the triple jump with a leap of 43 feet, 2.5 inches, finishing 14th.
Charlie Theis finished 17th at 42-4.75.
Carter Aakre and
Matt Boche wrapped up the men's heptathlon with the 60-meter hurdles, pole vault, and 1,000-meter run. Boche finished 13
th with 3,029 points and Aakre placed 14
th with 3,001 points.
Peter Place placed 13th in the weight throw with a PR toss of 50-8. In addition,
Eli Dodge set a season-best 200-meter dash time of 23.02, finishing in 16th.
