LEXINGTON, Ky. – The United States Marine Corps and The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recently announced its Team Academic Awards for the 2021-2022 season, with the UW-River Falls volleyball team earning the academic honors, which is awarded to teams that maintain a year-long GPA of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.

UWRF is one of 1,208 teams to receive the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award. This year's honor marks the third season in a row in which the Falcons have garnered the AVCA academic accolade, and the fifth time in the last six seasons.

The Falcons went 15-14 overall during the 2021 campaign, and return All-WIAC Honorable Mentions Sami Hilley and Katie Koerper to the 2022 roster.

The AVCA Team Academic Award is the single largest award offered by quantity of schools, players and coaches honored.
