THE SERIES
UW-River Falls and Elmhurst met for the first time in the two program's history last season, a 45-7 UWRF victory on Sept. 4 in River Falls. Returning wide receiver

2021 RECAP
The Falcons are coming off the best season since 1996, tying a program record with nine wins during the 2021 season, finishing with a 9-2 record capped off with a 48-27 win over WashU during the inaugural Culver's Isthmus Bowl. UWRF was the top scoring and rushing offense in the WIAC and surpassed a program record with 477 total points scored, breaking the previous record of 344 set in 1989 and 1985.
Matt Walker returns for his 12th season at the helm of the program, and was named the 2021 WIAC Co-Coach of the Year.

UW-River Falls is ranked No. 16 by Lindy's Sports and No. 18 by D3football.com in the 2022 Preseason Polls.
Garnering 180 points in the D3football.com poll, the No. 18 ranking is the highest in UWRF football history. In the D3football.com 2021 Week 11 rankings (Nov. 14), the Falcons were ranked No. 22, marking the first time in program history to crack the Top 25 poll, which began voting in 2003.
UWRF was tabbed third in the WIAC Preseason Poll. UW-Whitewater, the defending league champions and winner of 13 of the last 16 titles, has been picked to capture the 2022 WIAC Championship.
