MANKATO, Minn. – The UW-River Falls women's soccer team earned a 3-2 victory at Bethany Lutheran College Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons, now 2-0 overall, scored once in the first half before adding two in the second to secure the one-goal margin of victory.
Just under 20 minutes in,
Kassidy Mackie scored her first of the season, assisted by
Kaylee Walter. UWRF out-shot BLC 10-6 in the first 45 minutes and led 1-0 at halftime.
Not long into the second half, the Vikings committed a foul to afford the Falcons a penalty kick, in which
Aliviah McClinton converted for her second goal of the season.
The home team got on the board at the 64
th minute to trim the UWRF lead to 2-1.
Alayna Westerman scored the eventual game-winner at the 76
th minute off a corner kick to give the Falcons a two-goal lead, enough space for the victory, as the Vikings added a late goal to set the score at 3-2.
The Falcons held a 20-17 edge in shots, with 14 on target.

Kaylie Krueger improved to 2-0 in net, making six saves.
Up next, the Falcons will host Buena Vista University on Monday, Sept. 5 for the 2022 home opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
