RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's soccer team defeated Buena Vista University 2-0 on Labor Day at Ramer Soccer Stadium during the 2022 home opener.
The Falcons improved to 3-0 with their second shutout of the season.
UWRF led 24-3 in shots, with 11 on target. The Falcon defense also turned away six Buena Vista corner kick opportunities.
Regan Schweitzer and
Alayna Westerman scored the Falcon goals, Schweitzer scoring the game-winner 32 minutes into the contest, and Westerman scoring her second of the season with help from
Kassidy Mackie at the 62nd minute.
Mackie led the team with three shots on goal, followed by two each from
Moya Murray and
Elizabeth Felty.
Goalkeepers
Kaylie Krueger and
Grace Zellmer combined for the shutout, playing a half each.
