RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's soccer team and Macalester College finished in a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes Thursday afternoon at Ramer Soccer Stadium.
The NCAA rules committee approved changes for the 2022 season regarding overtime. For the regular season, overtime has been eliminated.
Despite the result, a competitive contest between the Falcons and Scots led to a 14-12 shot advantage for the visitors, while both teams had five shots on goal. Macalester also held a slim lead advantage in corner kicks, 7-6.
UWRF had a flurry of solid chances near the end of the match but to no avail, which included six shot attempts in the final 13 minutes.
Madyson Shew and
Lauren Best led the Falcons off the bench with two shots on target each. Goalkeeper
Kaylie Krueger made five saves as her record moves to 3-0-1.
UWRF remains undefeated with a 3-0-1 overall record and hits the road for a nonconference matchup this Saturday at Northland College.
