RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls women's soccer team fell 2-0 against No. 10-ranked UW-La Crosse Saturday evening from Smith Stadium at Ramer Field.
UWRF, now 6-4-3 overall and 1-2-1 during WIAC play, held the conference leaders and nationally ranked Eagles scoreless through the first half before the visiting scored twice in the second to earn the win.
Falcon netminder
Kaylie Krueger made a season-high 10 saves on 27 shots faced.
The Falcons turned aside all 13 of UWL's corner kick attempts, but goals from Maggie Hernandez and the 70th minute and Claire Carter four minutes later gave the visitors the victory.
UWRF was held to one shot on target despite the competitive effort.
The Falcons head to Carleton College for a nonconference matchup on Monday in Northfield, Minn.
