MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The UW-River Falls women's soccer team fell 5-0 at Augsburg University Wednesday evening.
The match served as the Falcons' final nonconference contest of the season. UWRF, now 6-6-3 overall, has three games left on the season including this Saturday at UW-Oshkosh.
A pair of Auggies led the home team to victory, featuring a natural hat trick in the first half from Augsburg's Jayla Ponce, and a pair of second half goals by McKenna Nachreiner.
UWRF was outshot 14-3 in the first half, but improved in the final 45 minutes with seven shots and four corner kick opportunities. The Falcons were unable to prevail past the Auggie defense and goalkeepers though.
The Falcons totaled seven shots on target, led by a pair from
Madyson Shew.
Kaylie Krueger made the start in goal for the Falcons and tallied nine saves.
