No. 7 Falcons set for road game at UW-Stout

The No. 7/10-ranked UW-River Falls football team is scheduled to face UW-Stout on the road this Saturday.

AGAINST THE BLUE DEVILS
  • Saturday's matchup marks the 108th all-time meeting between the Falcons and Blue Devils with UW-River Falls holding a 71-36 series advantage.
  • Last season, UWRF defeated UW-Stout 35-34 during the regular season finale in River Falls.
LAST TIME OUT
  • UWRF is coming off a 75-14 win at UW-Stevens Point last Saturday, breaking several program records.
    • The Falcons' 75 points was a program record point total against a WIAC opponent. It also marks the second-highest margin of victory against a conference foe in UWRF history behind a 69-6 victory over UW-Superior set in 1989.
    • UWRF also set a program record with 11 touchdowns, passing for seven along with four on the ground. Additionally, the Falcons' 863 yards of total offense is the most in the program's modern era, the most since a 788-yard effort during the 2000 season versus UW-Eau Claire.
      • The 863 yards of total offense is also breaks a WIAC record for conference games only, besting the previous most when UW-Oshkosh totaled 928 at UW-Stout in 2015.
IN THE RANKINGS
  • For the seventh week in a row, UWRF is ranked among the top 10 in the D3football.com, coming in at No. 7 this week.
  • In the AFCA Coaches' Poll, the Falcons are ranked No. 10.
FALCON NOTES
  • The Falcon offense ranks fifth nationally and leads the WIAC with an average of 537.3 yards of total offense per game.
    • UWRF's 205 first downs leads the WIAC and is the third most in Division III.
    • Quarterback Kaleb Blaha is the WIAC leader and ranks fourth in DIII with 359.9 yards of total offense per game.
    • Blaha was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for two weeks in a row to open the season (Sept. 5, Sept. 12).
    • At Ohio Wesleyan on Sept. 9, Blaha compiled a UWRF single-game record 566 yards of total offense, and he currently ranks third all-time at UWRF with 6,445 career yards of total offense.
  • UWRF's rushing defense leads the conference and ranks eighth nationally with 55.3 rushing yards against per game.
    • Three Falcons rank among the WIAC's top 10 in tackles for loss; Jake McCortney, Drew Hahn, and Jack Olson. The trio has combined for 17.5 tackles for loss.
    • Defensive back Dylan Brown ranks second in the WIAC in passes defended with 10 (9 pass breakups, one interception).
      • At the University of Northwestern on Sept. 16, Dylan Brown tallied his 28th career pass breakup to become the UWRF all-time leader in pass breakups.
