RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls volleyball team defeated Augsburg University and No. 16-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College Tuesday evening at Page Arena.
The Falcons, now 14-4 overall, have won six consecutive matches, including its second win this season over a nationally-ranked opponent with the 3-1 win over Gustavus.
UWRF hits the road for Platteville, Wis., this weekend to face the Pioneers on Friday, followed by neutral site matches against Carthage and Millikin.
UW-River Falls 3, Augsburg 0
The Falcons opened the night sweeping the Auggies 25-19, 25-14, 25-17.
UWRF compiled a .217 hitting percentage with 39 kills while holding Augsburg to 25 kills and a .064 hitting percentage.
Kameri Meredith led the Falcons with a double-double of 12 kills and 11 digs while
Sami Hilley hit .500 with 10 kills and one error.
Grace Boles led with 19 assists whle
Brenna Olson had a team-high 14 digs.
UW-River Falls 3, Gustavus 1
The Falcons and Gusties went back and forth in the first two sets 25-20 in favor of UWRF before a 25-21 set two win for Gustavus before the home team pulled away in sets three and four.
Up 2-1 after a 25-22 set three win, Gustavus fought back in set four and led by as many as 12-4, forcing a Falcon timeout. After the break, UWRF rallied with a 10-2 run to tie the set at 14-14 while forcing a Gustie timeout.
UWRF closed out the set with kills from
Katelyn Nichols and
Kate Seymour to win the set 25-23 and match 3-1.
Sami Hilley led the Falcons with 15 kills on just two errors for an efficient .448 attack percentage, while
Olivia Gustafsson led with 18 assists and 18 digs from
Brenna Olson.
