RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls women's basketball team defeated Augsburg University 67-48 Saturday afternoon at Page Arena.
UWRF collected a season-high 43 rebounds and 13 steals while three Falcons scored in double figures to improve to 3-1 overall.
Despite committing 20 turnovers, the Falcons forced 21 Auggie turnovers, which led to 20 UWRF points. UWRF also led 30-18 in the paint and held a 43-31 lead in rebounds.
Olivia Miron led the Falcons with nine rebounds and three steals.
After leading by six through the first 10 minutes, UWRF shot 60 percent in the second quarter with 28 points, including six three-pointers to earn a 45-22 halftime lead.
The Falcons led by as many as 29 in the third quarter after a
Zoey Buchan layup put UWRF up 55-26, which was plenty of room to coast to victory.
Buchan and
Julia Seidel shared the team lead with 15 points each, followed by 10 from Miron.
Jaya Hatlestad led with three assists.Â
UWRF returns to action next weekend with a pair of games at the UW-La Crosse Thanksgiving Tournament.
