Falcons earn road win at North Central

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The UW-River Falls women's basketball team defeated North Central University in a road nonconference matchup Wednesday evening by a score of 66-49.

With the win, the Falcons improve to 5-1 overall with their fifth victory in a row.

Just over four minutes into the contest, a pair of Jaya Hatelstad made free throws pushed the Falcon lead to 14-1, and UWRF didn't look back, maintaining a lead over NCU for the rest of the night. The Falcons led by as many as 27 late in the game after a made triple from Kameri Meredith.

Leading 34-24 at halftime, UWRF came out strong in the second half with its strongest shooting output in the third quarter, shooting 8-of-15 from the field while scoring 22 points to earn a 56-35 heading into the final 10 minutes.

Despite the Rams shooting 40.5 percent from the field compared to a 37.1 mark from the Falcons, UWRF led 38-32 in rebounds while forcing 27 NCU turnovers, which led to 23 Falcon points.
