RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls women's basketball team defeated Bethany Lutheran College 71-39 Thursday evening at Page Arena.
Returning from a two-week break with its last game coming on Nov. 29, the Falcons recorded a season-best margin of victory with their sixth win in a row.
The Falcons forced 21 Viking turnovers and held the visitors to 25.5 percent shooting from the field. UWRF shot 27-of-69 from the field and 9-of-26 from beyond the arc, led by 16 points and seven rebounds from
Macy Nilsen.
Zoey Buchan added 13 points and 12 from
Kameri Meredith.Â
UWRF jumped out to a 17-7 lead in the first quarter and didn't look back, adding 25 points in the second quarter while shooting 50 percent from the field to earn a 42-15 halftime advantage. UWRF led by as many as 35 after a
Braelyn Beiler triple late in the game.
The Falcons, now 6-1 overall, are back at Page Arena tomorrow hosting another nonconference matchup against Bethel University.
