MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) released its 2022-23 NCAA Division III women's hockey award winners on March 24, including Player of the Year and First Team honors for UWRF's
Maddie McCollins.
McCollins, a senior forward from Maple Grove, Minn., was also named a First Team All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association, was the WIAC Co-Player of the Year, and was one of 11 finalists for the AHCA's Laura Hurd Player of the Year Award.
UWRF's leading scorer with 48 points off 28 goals and 20 assists, McCollins was an All-WIAC First Team member and set a UWRF single-season goal-scoring record with her 28 goals, breaking former Laura Hurd Award winner
Dani Sibley's 27 goals set in 2017.
McCollins scored multiple goals in nine games this season, including a pair of hat-tricks. She was twice named the WIAC Athlete of the Week, and shared the team-lead with four game-winning goals.
