MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) released its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 11-17, 2023, with Andrew Schumacher representing UW-River Falls as the Football Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Schumacher, a junior defensive back from Andover, Minn., paced the Falcon defense that allowed -11 rushing yards during the 75-3 win at the University of Northwestern on Saturday, Sept. 16. He had two tackles along with a 33-yard interception return for a touchdown, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.

He was also named the UWRF Male Falcon of the Week. The WIAC weekly honor is the first of Schumacher's career.

No. 9-ranked Falcons travel to face Ohio Wesleyan University this Saturday, Oct. 9.
